Over the course of four monthly magazine releases I had the chance to create editorial illustrations for four individual columns. The columns all covered very different topics and it was a challenging task to find a visual language for each text in its unique form. I tried four totally different approaches in style, composition and colour palette to bring the columns to life. I took the essence and atmosphere of the text as a core element and filtered out an individual emotion I wanted to depict with the illustration.

“Symbols” - graphic icons for different aspects examined during a conversation in the text.
“Of fear and stovetops” - highlighting the topic of fear as a unintentional companion and challenging your fears.
“The meaning of old and young” - discussing the topics of aging and staying young.
“Honouring your roots” - telling the story of cultural and societal inequality focussing on the aspect of education.
